Like mother like daughter

Happy spring everyone! Today I am excited to be partnering with Famous Footwear to share some super cute spring shoes and some insight on becoming a mom. With Mother's Day coming up, I'm reminded of how lucky I am to be June and Violet's mom. I'm also reminded of how important it is to be a positive influence on their lives. With each month they change and learn so much, making it that much more important to always be the best role model.

Secretly, I love coordinating outfits with them. It makes me feel like I'm in on their little 'twin' pact they have together. (And can I just say how much I love seeing them grow into their own personalities. Even though they are identical, they are truly so different and it's incredible to see how they are changing.) When it came to matching our shoes for these outfits I had to embrace spring and bust out some wedges and strappy sandals!

As a mom, I'm all about comfort these days. If what I'm wearing isn't comfortable then I just won't wear it. These shoes in particular feel like you are walking on clouds. They have a cushion in the bottom so even though you are getting some height, it doesn't feel like you are wearing super tall heels. I don't really ever wear heels anymore, if I want height I like wedges or a chunky heel. Like I said, comfort is key! Right now, Famous Footwear has so many great options for spring. If you are looking for shoes with feminine details or block heels, you'll definitely find a pair just for you.

I love camel colored or nude shoes because of how versatile they are. If you want to dress them up, they'd go great with a flowy dress or a skirt and blouse. That would make a super cute outfit for Mother's Day coming up. And then if you want to keep it casual, just add some distressed jeans and a cute tee. To me, spring is all about layering. I love adding light sweaters or jackets on top to add dimension to my looks.

And can we talk about these sweet white sandals the girls are wearing? It can be tricky finding shoes for them because they are running all over the place and I want their shoes to be supportive but also cute! These ones don't fall off and have a velcro strap which makes putting them on a breeze. Once the girls know we are going outside, or somewhere in the car, the last thing they want to do it put on shoes. So having shoes that I can put on quick makes all our lives a lot easier!

We stumbled upon this adorable little bakery called Sugar Divaz. Obviously we had to leave with a few sweets! If you are near Temecula, Ca you should check it out in Old Town. My favorite thing was the fruity pebble macaron!

My favorite thing these days is seeing the world through the eyes of my girls. They are such tiny little humans but already have such distinct personalities of their own. It's crazy to see how they truly pick up on everything you do, yet still have their own ideas of what they want to do! Now more than ever, I want to be a great example for my girls. Seeing how they look up to both me and Andrew is a lot of responsibly, but it's also incredibly rewarding.

Sometimes I'll catch them doing things that I never even taught them, but they saw me doing it. The other day Violet grabbed a little purse she got for Easter, some sunglasses and her toy keys and came running out to the living room. At 15 months old she knows that is what I do every time we leave the house.

Another time I saw both of them holding their pretend coffee cups I got them a while back. They both started blowing on the cups because they know coffee is hot. They then proceeded to take a 'sip' out of the cup followed with a big 'ahhhhh'. Talk about little sponges! They absorb everything that is going on around them whether I know it or not.

Looking to the future, I'm so excited to see the two of them create their own paths. With twins, it is really a special thing to see the bond they have with each other. I hope they will always have each others backs and stick up for each other. I hope they always enjoy doing things together, while still keeping their own identity. I'm sure it will be hard for them to grow up always being compared to each other, so I'll always remind them how special it is that they get a best friend for life. I don't have a sister, so witnessing this sister bond is all new to me. As they grow I will always be my best in hopes they continue to follow in my footsteps. Thanks so much for spending some time with me! Being a mom is the absolute best thing. I always looked forward to this time in my life, and now that it's here I want to savor each and every moment.
