Life Lately with Toddlers

Life Lately with Toddlers

Hey guys, I hope you are all doing great! Today I wanted to fill you in on what’s going on in the Atkins household. A lot has changed with the girls, I’m now in my third trimester of this pregnancy and I thought we could just chat! I’m actually typing this in the air as we speak. I’m heading to Miami, believe it or not, on a work trip. I can’t talk about details yet, but you’ll find out soon enough! One of my good friends, Summer, is joining me since I’m pretty far along in my pregnancy. I didn’t feel comfortable traveling across the country alone so she is with me for moral support! I am going to do a post soon on traveling while pregnant and traveling without your kids. I’ve had a lot of questions asking how I feel leaving the girls and what-not, so I’ll have a post on that soon.

Similarities and Differences between my Twin vs Singleton Pregnancy

Similarities and Differences between my Twin vs Singleton Pregnancy

What is the difference between your twin pregnancy and this pregnancy?

That is the most common question I get asked these days so I decided to write a full post on what has been the same and what has been different. Sometimes it feels like I was just pregnant and then other days that time in my life feels forever ago. I even started watching some of my old pregnancy updates to compare the two and also see how big I was at different times. Now, I’m not quite in my third trimester yet, almost, but here is what I’ve realized about the two pregnancies up until this point. *And after finishing this post I am seeing how different they have been! I have been telling most people they have actually been a lot alike but now I’m realizing they have been pretty different.

I'm Pregnant with Baby #3!

I'm Pregnant with Baby #3!

The day is finally here!!! Well I am posting this before the end of my first trimester, but I can’t wait any longer because I’ve felt so crummy the past few weeks. It is getting so hard to pretend like I feel normal when filming videos so I just couldn’t wait any longer. SO, I am 9 weeks pregnant and this time there is only one baby! I already had my first doctors appointment and my palms were so sweaty as I was waiting for the doctor to tell me how many babies there were! I sighed with relief when he said just one. A part of me thought I’d have twins again, but deep down I felt it was one. You can watch today’s video sharing weeks 1-5 with you.

Maternity Shoot

We are a month away!!! Holy moly it is getting so surreal to know we are going to be holding our baby girls in such a short time. Even though I feel so yucky I really wanted to have some pictures taken with Andrew to remember this time in our lives. This pregnancy has definitely not been what I was expecting. Ever since we found out it was twins, I feel like we jumped on a rollercoaster of emotions. From awful morning (*more like all day) sickness, to an extremely achy body, the whole pregnancy glow thing just wasn't for me! But on the flip side, everything with the girls has been above and beyond. They are in the 70th percentile for size and have been so healthy this entire time. With so many risks associated with my type of twin pregnancy, we are very lucky to have had such a smooth ride. I can't thank all of you enough for your continued support over these last 8 months.

Hey guys! I hope you are all having a great week so far! I just got back from my 29 week appointment (these photos were a few weeks ago so I'm bigger now!) and everything went great. The babies are 3 pounds 5 ounces and 3 pounds 6 ounces which is so amazing to be that close. I even got to see their faces in 3D and it blew my mind. Everything is becoming a little more real now. Not that it wasn't real before, but now that they will make their arrival in less than two months, I'm feeling the pressure! We pretty much have their nursery complete. I just need to hang stuff up on the walls and get a few things for finishing touches. I'll have a post on the nursery after they are born because we are waiting to say their names until they are born. We have signs above their cribs with their names so I kinda have to wait to post!

As far as 'gear' goes, we have everything we need, I think! We have a stroller, car seats, rockers, clothes, diapers and a whole lot more. Our house is already packed with baby stuff. It's going to be insane once they are born. Lots of pink too! I'm trying to organize everything a little better so it gives us a little wiggle room. My body is also feeling the pregnancy a lot more now. My uterus is now the size of a normal 40 week pregnancy, but I still have about 7 weeks to go. Wow typing out 7 weeks looks like practically nothing! Ah! Andrew and I are just so ready to meet these little girls. I feel like I've been pregnant forever and I am ready to see their faces in real life! We have a birthing class tonight at the hospital so that should be interesting! I am going to leave my last update video below for you to watch if you are interested. I hope you guys have a great weekend!

Baby Shower

Finally I am here to share my baby shower photos with you all! It was such a beautiful (and hot) day with so much love! Our shower was held in Fallbrook, CA at Myrtle Creek Nursery. There was a tented area where we set everything up. But I'd recommend coming by this nursery for lunch sometime because it is such an adorable spot. You order lunch and it's put in a picnic basket for you to take anywhere on the nursery to enjoy. We had around 45 people attend the shower from friends to family. The main thing I wanted was a romantic and rustic vibe, and it truly was just that. My mom found the pink table runners on amazon, and her and a friend made the plant party favors. The tags were from Etsy. Our plates, flatware and glassware were from Casa de Perrin and completely made the tables! My dad cut a ton of eucalyptus from their backyard and we used that on top of the runners along with homemade flower arrangements in mason jars.

My dress is from Asos maternity and I absolutely loved it. I ordered a size up (because I'm gaining a whole lot of weight with these twins). But I think I'll be able to where it post babies too. And my shoes are from Sole Society, which I where with pretty much everything. Where heals was a big deal for me. They came off right when the shower was over, don't get me wrong! My feet were aching bad! Lately my whole body has been super achy and I am ready for the babies to come out already!

I'll have a video on some of the things I got at the shower, because I know a lot of you want to see! But for now here is a short video of the shower. I hope you all enjoy!

Bump Style

Well hello everyone! I'm pretty sure I haven't posted any outfit pics since being pregnant. Most of that is because I was so sick that I never felt up to getting ready! These photos were taken at the 20 week mark. My belly has really started to pop out and it is so crazy to see. This dress isn't maternity but is super stretchy so it works!
