Guys I’m 30 today! So long twenties, not sad to be leaving you! It’s so odd, I’ve always wanted to be 30. I always thought, once I’m 30 my life will be stable and my life will truly begin. And honestly I do feel like that. I feel like this next decade has so much in store for me and I’m really excited for it! So today I wanted to look back on my twenties and write out 20 stand out moments.

  1. I went gluten free. After many stomach aches I tried cutting out gluten and it was the best decision ever!

  2. I got engaged! A few months before graduating college Andrew popped the question after about 6 years of dating.

  3. I graduated college. I graduated in 2011 with a degree in Speech Communications from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.

  4. I got married! Andrew and I got married in June 2012 and it was such a perfect day.

  5. Honeymooned in Kauai. We spent a week on the island exploring and relaxing.

  6. We got a dog. Kaila came into our lives a few months after we got married and now it’s so fun to see her with our girls!

  7. We lived in 3 different apartments. I loved making each one into our little home.

  8. Made YouTube my full time job. After a lot of deliberating I decided to quit my two jobs and do YouTube exclusively and I’m so grateful I did and that I still am able to!

  9. We spent a few months in Seattle. For one of Andrew’s physical therapy rotations we moved to Seattle. It was SO much fun, I loved every minute of it.

  10. We bought a house.

  11. We did a lot of home renovations. Now I feel like it’s totally complete! Just need baby boy to arrive!

  12. Took lots of trips to the river.

  13. I had TWINS. And what a wild ride it has been!

  14. Learned how to manage working from home while taking care of two kids. I’ve really had to learn how to be flexible!

  15. Traveled a bunch to Palm Springs, Nashville, New York, Texas, South Carolina and Miami to name a few!

  16. I got pregnant with a little boy! We are SO excited!

(And for my last 4 I wanted to talk about a few things I’ve learned along the way…)

  17. You can’t plan everything. I am such a planner and love to know exactly what to expect. I’m learning that some things will just happen how they are suppose to and then you look back and realize why. It is also kind of nice to not know what’s to come. There is joy and hope in the unexpected.

  18. Be grateful for what you’ve been given. It can become so easy to fall into a routine and not ever look around at all you are surrounded with. Sometimes it’s the people who mean the most to us that we take for granted. I try to take a step back at times and soak in all that I’ve been blessed with.

  19. Don’t take things too seriously. Andrew is a really big help for this one. I can harp on things that don’t matter much and he is always there to remind me some things aren’t that big of deal. Laughter can do a lot of good for the soul.

  20. Life is roller coaster. It’s full of highs and lows, exciting moments and some slow patches as well. You think you have it all figured out and then a sharp turn is thrown at you. I’m learning to embrace all that it’s worth and never try to hope I’m 5 years down the road. I use to always say, I can’t wait until…when we have this it will be perfect…or…just wait until we are here… Learning to be fully in the present is powerful and completely fulfilling.

So here is to another 20 years. Who knows what life will look like then, but all I know is that I am so grateful and happy in this current moment.
