Winter Nails

winter nail polish

I just got done painting my nails and was completely inspired by a new color palette for this winter. When I think of winter nails, I think dusty purples and blues, muted nudes and deep wines. I love my nails to have color and be interesting, but I also need a break from all the cherry reds I was wearing back in November and December. I rounded up my top nail colors that draw me in. These shades all have that soft vibe, and give you the feeling of cozy nights in and a shift in seasons.

Nars Zakynthos

Formula X Enigma

Butter London Toff

Obsessive Compulsive Pleasure Model

Orly Rage

Sparitual Hypnotic

Deborah Lippman Naked

Essie Bobbing for Baubles

Nails Inc. Kensington High Street

China Glaze Sea Spray (on my nails now)

Ciate Cream Soda

Loreal Because You’re Worth It

OPI Aphrodite’s Pink Nightie

Decor Inspiration: Entryway

Something I love about entryway’s is how they set the tone for the rest of the home. I’m a sucker for bright spaces with eclectic accents pieces. Your entry should be both beautiful and functional. A place to sit and put your purse or keys is a must. I also love statement light fixtures, neutral colors and earthy accents. I hope these pictures give you inspiration!

Wishlist:

comfy bench

pretty mirror

statement light fixture

patterned rug

a plant (adds a touch of green and warmth to any room)

Nike Jacket/Wild & Free Hot Pants/Mermaid Leggings/Vintage Tank/Elastic Bra Top

It’s almost the weekend guys! So today I have some adorable workout clothes to share with you. Most are by Peach Pop, a super fun company. They recently asked me some questions for their blog and I figured I’d share everything I said with you as well! I need to take a moment to explain how often I’ve been wearing these pieces…I’m talking ALL THE TIME. Basically I want to live in the pink sports bra and purple tank. The sports bra is the most comfortable sports bra I’ve ever worn. You can’t even feel it which is why I love it. Whenever I wear sports bras I get a back ache, but this is not the case with this one. I need this in 100 colors!!! Okay on to the interview questions…

First off, tell us a little about yourself and your blog. My blog and youtube channel are an extension of myself. I post content on beauty, fashion and health. I am always looking for natural alternatives in my beauty routine and finding the absolute best products on the market. My blog is where I share all of that with my viewers. I do not claim to be a professional makeup artist or a personal trainer, but I am like many of you trying to find ways to look and feel our very best. My job is to make that process a little easier for you!

How is fitness a part of your life? Fitness has always been a part of my life. My family is very active so they keep me accountable if I’m ever too lazy. I wish that I woke up every day ready to go on a run, but that is far from the truth. I’m the type of person that would rather eat better, and exercise less. But what keeps me coming back for more is the feeling I get after a great workout. I have more energy, my skin clears up, and my mood improves. I also like to stay in shape just for the personal satisfaction. When I slack off, my body will show it, and that motivates me to tone up. You will never regret a workout, so if I can push myself to change into workout clothes and get my mind right, I’ll be so much happier afterwards. And wearing cute workout gear always helps!

Who is your fitspo? My fitness inspiration is all of my YouTube subscribers. They are the ones who keep me accountable and give me great tips and inspiration. The easiest way to get in shape, is to have someone who will hold you accountable. Have a friend workout with you to keep you motivated. If you are at home and want to stay on the couch for one more episode, it’s easy to skip a workout. But if you have a friend waiting for you at the gym, or a yoga class to attend, you are way more likely to get moving.

What does your day-to-day look like? My day-to-day includes a LOT of sitting in front of a computer screen. I usually wake up, respond to emails while drinking some tea or coffee and make a to-do list for the day. I will work on the day’s blog post and catch up on my social media accounts. Once I change out of my sweats and get ready, I will either start filming or editing future videos. Once I wash my makeup off, I like to throw on some work out clothes and get in a workout mid-afternoon. This is when I start crashing and need to step away from the computer screen and break a sweat. Then it is back to editing! I try to unplug from all media once I start cooking dinner and let myself relax! Before bed you will most likely find me watching HGTV. I’m really a 4- year-old at heart.

What’s a quote you live by? Make today better than yesterday.

What is your beauty and style philosophy? Be yourself and be comfortable. Those go hand in hand to me. If I’m not comfortable in what I’m wearing, or if I have piles of makeup on my face, I don’t feel like myself. I like to take some beauty and fashion risks but I always stay true to who I am. With the social media world blowing up, it’s easy to compare yourself to others. Remember that nobody else is like you. Embrace that.

You and your husband are adorable. What’s one of your favorite activities to do together that get you moving? We love to go on hikes with our dog. It gets us outside and breathing in some fresh air. After you finish a hike, you always feel like a million bucks. Even though some are a struggle, the end result is what I chase. We also like to play tennis and go to the gym together. Being active is a great way to stay connected and feel better from the inside out.

Decor Inspiration: Bedroom

When it comes to the bedroom, I like decor that is dreamy, soft and romantic. Your bedroom should be a place of retreat, soothing and relaxing. Tufted headboards, fluffy white comforters and delicate chandeliers are what I think of when I envision my perfect bedroom. I also love using lots of neutrals but in different textures throughout the room. I hope you get some inspiration looking through these pictures. Let me know in the comments what is on your wish list for your ideal bedroom.

Wish List:

-tufted headboard

-chandelier

-giant rug under bed

-long drapes

-vintage chairs

words of wisdom

It’s so funny when I look back on my pins under the ‘words‘ section. I always seem to be pinning quotes and verses with the same theme. My most recent ones have all been about being the change you want to see. I have recently felt really motivated to take more action in my job and quit waiting around for something to happen. It is all about your mind set. If you wake up with the intention of getting things done and staying positive, so much more is possible. I hope these few words of wisdom will help you get back on track. It is so easy to get lost in the shuffle of things. Sometimes it’s important to collect your thoughts, write down a list of what you need to do, and actually do it. But, through it all remember that God has the ultimate power in our futures and he will guide us every step of the way. When we put our faith in him, everything else will slowly come together the way he has envisioned. I hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday. Enjoy your day and keep you head up! Love you all!

Be Inspired // #5

25 4 Here are a few quotes I have been drawn to lately. It’s funny because whenever I post these, there seems to be a common theme. I think my upcoming move has made me a little more adventurous and inspired. I am looking forward to the unknown and the unpredictability of our trip. I have always been a very practical and realistic person. I am much more of a planner then a dreamer. However, I am married to someone who inspires me to think less and act more. Sometimes it can be very liberating to live with your heart instead of your head at times. Granted, this is not easy for me. I feel much more safe and stable when I know what to expect. But I am trying my best to enjoy each and every moment and worry less about the future and instead be more in the present. I hope each and every one of you can try to do the same this week. Be in the now, because that is what matters.

Decor Inspiration: Kitchen

For my next decor inspiration, I have some amazing shots of kitchens that I love. I think the kitchen will be the room I care the most about. I spend a lot of time in the kitchen and find it to be a very welcoming area of any house. Currently, our kitchen is so tiny it is almost impossible to move around, yet I still am in it a lot! The kitchens I am drawn to have black and white accents. I loooove black window panes with white walls. I also like when the cabinets are white around the wall, and black for the island. I hope to one day make my kitchen feel lived in and cozy, with a touch of elegance.

A few things on my wish list:

farmers sink

chandelier

brass hardware

white/grey marble countertop

white tiled backsplash

black and wood accents

Decor Inspiration: Office

So I want to start a new series where I show you some photographs that I love. I know that my blog is mainly fashion and beauty, however I am also a huge home decor fanatic. Living in a tiny and temporary apartment isn’t too ideal for showing you my decor. So I figured I would share pictures that I have pinned that represent what I would like my future home to look like. I wanted to start off with the office. I would love to have my own office one day. A space where I can go that represents me. Somewhere clean, pretty, and inspiring.

A few things on my wish list:

big desk

shelves

pretty frames

fresh flowers

chandelier

lots of light

fun rug

Decor Inspiration: Parisian Glamour

So I have been going slightly crazy in the pinterest/home decorating/dreaming department these days. I am so excited and ready to decorate my future home! Renting apartments doesn’t allow for many permanent decor plans, so I have had a lot of time to brainstorm what I really love. Once style in particular that has been so appealing to me is European. There is nothing prettier than buildings in Paris and old eclectic designs. Brass hardware, chandeliers and glossy black accents pretty much make me drool. We’ll see how much I’ll get away with once Andrew and I buy a home. These are some items that are on my lust list!

Be Inspired // #3

These are some of the quotes and verses that have inspired me lately. As we enter spring, I always have a fresh outlook on things and feel cleansed in a way. I truly believe our outlook has everything to do with our outcome. If you try each day to live a more positive, loving and motivated life, you are that much closer to doing so. I would love to know some of your favorite quotes are or whatever you find inspiration.
