New Hair!
/Hey guys! Today I wanted to share with you my new hair! I recently added in some blonde and got my style (lob) refreshed. I totally love it! I stopped dying my hair for a solid 2 years. I just wanted to get it really healthy and was really enjoying my natural auburn color. But I tend to need change every now and then and recently was needing a pick-me-up. Blonde always lifts my mood and I knew I was ready to go back! Not that I’m a full blonde, but it’s so much lighter than before and it makes me happy!
What I ask for in a cut at the salon:
If you are wanting to cut your hair similar to mine here is what I ask my stylist. I don’t like when it’s much shorter in the back, but more of the same length throughout. I like it to be really textured since I have SO much hair. So I always want them to use the texturizing scissors on dry hair at the end. That is usually what creates my pieces layers rather than actually cutting a ton of layers. I do have a few shorter pieces in the front which frame my face when I add waves.
I’d recommend letting your stylist know what you want and also what you DON’T want. I think this really helps create clarity for them. I also always bring in photos that I find on pinterest to use as a visual. And again, even some photos of cut/color that I don’t like just so they really know what you want.
What I ask for in the color at the salon:
Pictures are really everything when it comes to color. For me personally, I have to ask for cooler blonde or else it can come out too brassy since I have naturally auburn hair. I like getting some brighter pieces to frame my face, and then mixing up how intense the highlight it throughout my hair so it’s not all one one. I love a good balayage because they tease the hair before adding color, which really blends your blonde into your roots rather than harsh highlights.
I also added some photos of my hair over the years so you can see how many looks and variations I’ve had from cut to color. Which one is your favorite??
