I received this fruit infuser water bottle in my last Fab Fit Fun box and I thought I’d show you how it works! Sometimes water can be a bit boring, so infusing it with fruit, veggies or herbs can makes things more interesting. There are so many combinations you can try out yourself, but I am going to show you what I use most often. Besides making your water look pretty, infusing it has so many health benefits. Water alone helps to balance your body fluids, keep your skin looking good, control calorie intake, energize muscles, and cleanse your body of toxins. So just add that list, to what infused water does and you are on your way to feeling and looking great! (use code kendrafruitwater for a free bottle in your next Fab Fit Fun box)
First, decide what you want to use in your water bottle. Slice it up into small pieces and place in the middle insert. Once you have everything inside, twist the pink cap back on and place back inside the bottle. I like to put mine in the fridge for a little bit to get cold and let the fruit do it’s job. After about 10 minutes you will start to taste the difference, but the longer you let it sit, the more the flavors can seep into the water.
Lemon water is so quick and easy. Lemons provide so many health benefits. So I had to make a list!
-boosts your immunity
-aids digestion
-gives you an energy boost
-freshens your breath
-cleanses your system
-reduces inflammation
-clears up your skin
Another type of infused water I love is cucumbers and oranges. I love the sweetness you get from the orange, but you also get a clean aftertaste from the cucumber. It is super refreshing and delicious! Oranges aid with healthy blood circulation and provide vitamin C. Cucumbers are incredibly hydrating and they also help flush out toxins.
Some other great ingredients are mint, raspberries, lime and strawberries.
Let me know what your favorite types of infused water are!
Oil Cleansing is great at removing all your makeup and deep cleaning your skin. I usually do this once a week, but you can definitely do this more often if you want. If you wear a lot of makeup everyday, this will really help to get everything off at night. What I love about oil cleansing, is that most of these products are already in your pantry. When I first started using oils to cleanse, I would mix them in a little tupperware bowl. Now I use a glass dropper bottle, but you can use whatever you have on hand. Now let me try to convince you to use this method yourself, because it’s freaking amazing and your skin will thank me. You can watch my video down below to learn more about this super easy and awesome way to clean your skin!
1. This is way safer than drugstore or high end makeup removers/cleansers. This is as pure as you can get.
2. When you use this on a regular basis, you will see your amount of breakouts significantly drop or completely disappear.
3. This will serve as your makeup remover, cleanser, and moisturizer so you’ll save yourself some time at night.
4. The oils will extract any dirt, build-up, and makeup that accumulated over the day way more effectively than a typical cleanser.
Castor oil is a great oil to begin with. Use more if you have oily skin, and less if you have dry skin. Then find an oil below to mix with it. I like using 2 parts olive oil and 1 part castor oil. You can also add a little vitamin E to your mixture.
Here is my unboxing of my first Love with Food box! Honestly, there were some amazing snacks in here. The box is only $10 a month, unless you want to upgrade to a bigger box, or the gluten free one. I decided not to eat everything on camera ‘live’ because I’d rather not watch someone just eating the entire video. So I put in a few clips so you could see my reaction, but not the ENTIRE snacking business. I would highly suggest checking this box out if you like to try new companies. Not only were the snacks delicious, but there were some great healthy options. Overall, I was really impressed! Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!
PS. I am having a meet up in Seattle this Saturday!! Check my instagram for all the details!!! I will also have a blog post with all the details soon.
Happy Monday everyone! I am currently sweating profusely as I type this and listening to some lovely construction a foot out of our apartment window. Oh the joys. Today’s video is all about staples. I have been ordering a lot off Vitacost’s site lately since we didn’t bring much with us to Seattle. This first order consisted of many essentials…drinks, oils, bars etc. I hope you can get some ideas from my purchases and like always leave me some of your favorites in the comments!
Well hello everyone! I am actually happy that it’s Monday. Am I crazy? Two things that make me happy are stability and predictability. This move has been such a whirl wind and I honestly was starting to go a little insane. We finally have a decent amount of furniture (I’ll have a video on all the furniture we found). I can actually sit down at my desk and type on my desktop! You have no idea how happy that makes me. It gets a little old laying in bed, typing blog posts on your laptop. I am one of those people. Yes. What else has changed? My videos are starting to get back to a normal schedule and I am finally getting caught up on my emails. There is nothing worse than a bunch of unanswered emails! Sooo, today’s video is all about skincare. I am a skincare junkie. Sort of. I really enjoy washing my face at night and applying products. It is a relaxing experience for me and I try to enjoy it instead of rushing through. I also like skincare products a lot more since I switched over to using mostly natural products. I experience way less break outs, redness and uneven skin tone. My skin also is much brighter than it’s ever been. I hope you all enjoy this video and hopefully you can try some of these products out for yourself!
It is no secret I have a love affair with Vitacost. Most of the time I talk about the beauty products I purchase, but believe it or not, I spend more money on food and drinks. I love trying out new natural companies but am not a fan of the price tag of most of these brands. So, I typically buy all of my dry goods and some drinks online. Almond milk, coconut water, granola bars, canned goods, salsa…..yes I know I am sort of insane. But hey, I save money and I am proud of that! If you guys want a big list of what I usually buy from Vitacost as far as groceries go, let me know. So here is an order I recently made with some new bars, protein powders and other random items. I hope you all enjoy and let me know what your favorites are from Vitacost. If you don’t know what Vitacost is, then you must be new to my channel!

On Monday I did a juice cleanse by Urban Remedy. Six juices every two hours for one day. You can do a longer cleanse if you want but I started with one day. I have always wanted to do this for a few reasons.
1. Celery, cucumber, parsley, spinach, and lemon. Filled with enzymes and vitamins, our signature green drink cleanses and boosts energy levels. (tasted strong of celery and and cucumber)
2. Acai with fresh lemon juice, cayenne, ionized water and stevia. This blend is high in antioxidants and promotes eight loss and anti-aging. (tasted like berry, with a spicy kick)
3. This cucumber, ginger, lemon and mint juice with a touch of apple flushes excess water and toxins and pulls heavy metals from the body. (tasted strong of mint and ginger…I really liked the freshness of this)
4. This hearty formula of beet root, carrot, ginger, apple and lemon cleanses the liver and lowers inflammation. (tasted like carrot and lemons…I was nervous for this one because I don’t like beets, but it wasn’t bad.)
5. This sweet, low glycemic treat combines chia seeds raspberries, and stevia to balance blood sugar, cleanse the colon, and delivers antioxidants. It also offers more omega 3’s than salmon. (tasted like tart raspberries)
6. Live sprouted cashew milk with vanilla and cinnamon. It’s a calming and naturing blend packed with mineral and enzymes. (tasted like a sweet milk, I wish it were a little smoother)
So the day of, I wrote down how I was feeling so I could share it with you. I definitely got very cranky and wanted to eat anything in sight, but in the end it was so worth it.
8:00- lemon water, really hungry
8:44- first juice, tastes very green
10:30- lemon water
10:45- second juice, tastes good like spicy strawberries, a little hungry and shaky, but energized
12:45- hungry, want to sleep and eat, have a headache, juice tastes good but not as good as real food
2:40- feel tired, not even too hungry now but just want to eat
4:45- tired, not too hungry, juice is really good like a raspberry smoothie
5:45- restless, starving, feel free now (I guess because I was almost there!)
6:45- the cashew milk is a little chunky but sweet, very satisfying
8:00- still feel full
*Woke up feeling great and awake. Ate a banana with a little almond butter and felt instantly full. I only hate fruits and veggies the entire next day. The day after that I incorporated some meat in and got a headache. I also ate a little dark chocolate and got a headache. It showed me how certain foods really affect me.
What I got out of it: After doing this cleanse I have a new appreciation for food. You need to treat your body like a temple, and if you don’t you will face the consequences. When I had meat again for the first time my body didn’t feel that great. I could tell it was a lot harder for my body to digest it. I feel more aware of how my body is responding to certain foods. I noticed my face cleared up, I had more energy and I woke up feeling a little lighter. It’s funny, I actually wasn’t crazy hungry, I just really wanted to eat something for the pure pleasure of it. I would highly suggest doing a cleanse. Urban Remedy is great because not only is it organic, but each juice was really good. Some tasted more ‘green’ than others, but if you ever buy juices at Robeks or Jamba Juice then you can handle it. I kept cringing as I’d open a new juice, and each time I was pleasantly surprised. Even my husband did it and is glad that he did. He says even though he had been craving bad food the day of the cleanse, he woke up wanting to eat only whole, real foods. All in all it was a great experience, maybe not at the time, but I am glad to say that I went a whole day drinking juice! I will definitely do another one sometime. I want to try a three day cleanse next. Here’s to a new perspective on eating more raw, clean food, trust me, your body will thank me later!
I get so many questions on what I use on my hair so I figured it was time to do an updated hair care routine. I also have other tips on how I keep my hair healthy. Here are my top products for shiny and long locks!
I have been buying a lot more veggies at the grocery store lately. Since I know they will go bad, it sort of forces me to eat them. That may not be the best reasoning, but it’s been working for me! I also feel soo much better when I eat more greens. What I have been loving to do (ok not loving at the time, but it pays off), is to cut everything up right when I get home. I put everything in ziplock bags and it makes my meals so easy to prepare. Admit it, how many of you skip on healthy options because you don’t want to cut up an onion?? I’m totally with you!
When I make salads, I use whatever I have on hand at the moment. It keeps things fresh and easy.
For dressing I use olive oil and either balsamic or apple cider vinegar (this salad has balsamic).
