Oily Life

Hey guys! I have a blog post coming this week with pics/video from Owen’s first birthday along with 4th of July so stay tuned! But today I wanted to share why I’ve started to get back into oils. I recently joined Young Living and I’m loving everything so far. I almost joined last year and decided against it because I thought it was too much money (I’ll talk about about that later). But a few months ago I felt like I needed a change. Owen was almost one, I was out of my postpartum fog and starting to get back in shape and needed a little source of inspiration. I used to be very into wellness, if you used to watch all my Vitacost hauls then you already know! But when Owen came along everything seemed so rushed and busy that I started to lose time for self care. Now that life seems to be leveling out I decided to take the plunge and see what this “oily life” is all about.

I used to use essential oils, but not everyday just every now and then. When we were sick or when making DIY beauty products I’d pull a few out. I stopped using them because I’d always get messages from you all saying the types of oils I was using weren’t safe. I recently was talking to a friends who uses Young Living and she convinced me. Now I see it all in a new light. I’m loving making new concoctions to diffuse around the house to help with sleep and mood, but also to use for so many other things. I made my own all purpose cleaner, I’ve been adding oils to my dryer balls for a scent boost, I apply them to my skin for different reasons too. (Currently using for cramps!) And I love knowing that they are clean and pure products that are safe for my family.

I wanted to share with you because I’m now motivated to create roller balls for my kids and myself to help with headaches, focus, creativity, sleep and so many more things. I love that I can help my family feel better with all natural oils that I can create myself.

The reason I didn’t join sooner is because I didn’t want to have to spend the $165 for the starter to kit to become a member. Now that I have it, I see the value in it (over $400 worth of product) and I use all of it every day! And there are so many new products I can’t wait to get my hands on. I also joined ER (essential rewards). This is basically a custom wellness box delivered to your door each month. I pick out everything I want and it really is so much fun. I keep stalking my door for this month’s order to arrive. You just have to spend 50PV which comes out to about $50 a month and with everything I have on my wishlist, it’s very easy to do! Plus I’m getting way more than just oils, dish soap, all purpose cleaner, makeup, skincare etc.

I also decided to start selling too. I thought, okay I’m already at home with the kids, why not help other moms out by sharing all of these products that have thoroughly impressed me. And then, I can help those moms sell to their friends and family and make some money for themselves! I’ve had so many people ask for recommendations for side jobs to make money at home and this would really be the best way to do that. I love that anyone has the chance to sell for themselves or just buy the products they want, totally up to them.

I would love to hear your favorite Young Living products and I’ll add them to my wish list! Follow me on my new wellness instagram @wellnesswithkendra and message me if you want to join me, have any questions or product suggestions! I have been welcomed to this amazing community of women who are so encouraging and uplifting. The oily space it so positive and truly what I’ve been craving in my life.
