VALENTINES DAY BASKETS!

VALENTINES DAY BASKETS!

I wanted to share the sweetest little Valentines baskets I put together for the girls. (Sorry Owen, you’ll get something next year!) I couldn’t resist when I was at Target the other day, it’s all just too cute. I knew I wanted to get the girls a little something for Valentine’s day but wasn’t really sure what so I just browsed around the isles for a little bit. They love anything little and tiny so I decided to do a bunch of little things. And instead of doing a gift bag I found these pink and white woven baskets so they can actually use them after. I think they’d be really cute in their closet!

Happy Birthday June and Violet!

Our girls are THREE! I can’t believe it. I’ve been looking back on photos and they look so little! I feel like all of a sudden they look like girls, not toddlers anymore. So for their special day I wanted to share 3 things they have taught me. We are always trying to teach our kids so much, yet we forget how much they are teaching us!

  1. Every day is a new day.

Something that kids don’t hold are grudges. If you get mad at them for something, they won’t wake up upset. They move on and forgive. We can be having a hard day and I’ll be so tired that evening, yet in the morning they run into our bed so happy and ready for a new day. It’s moments like that, which make me realize how important it is to move on and not let things get you down. Sure toddlers can have epic meltdowns, but they are so resilient. They bounce back and are happy as clams. Every day is a fresh start and a chance to re-do what you wish you would have the day before. Our love for our children is so huge, yet sometimes we forget how much they love us!

2. Stop to look up.

  1. One of my favorite things to do with June and Violet is to just go outside. Whether that’s on a walk or outside to jump on the trampoline, it always is worth it. There is something about being outside with little kids that is so special. And just being outside in general makes you feel good. It’s good for the soul. Kids are so young and innocent that everything they see is exciting. We could watch airplanes fly over us, the ants crawl by or just run around and they find so much joy in it. Whenever we are outside I really am forced to slow down. I take a breath and just enjoy the moment. My days can be so go, go, go that I can get frazzled really quick. But whenever we are all just outdoors (and unplugged) it’s so refreshing. The simple act of a watching a jet stream overhead always makes me pause and smile.

3. It’s the insignificant times that are the most significant.

Sometimes when we are just doing nothing at home I think to myself, these are the special times I’ll remember. The times when we are running around the house like a bunch of crazy people, cuddling in bed before the sun is up, or sitting in the kitchen waiting for the pasta to cook. Those are the moments where I see the girls in their purest state. They are just little sweet girls who want love and to have fun. We could plan the most elaborate day, dressed all cute and have the best photos to prove it, but it’s the days we are in pj’s with no plans that end up being the most precious to me.

You can watch some clips from their party below! I also added a little montage of videos of them over the past three years! Thank you all for following our family, I appreciate you all so much!

I get a lot of questions whether or not they are worth the price, so I’ll explain how we use them and you can see if you need them in your life as well. And at the end of the post I’ve posted some sleep tips for newborns!

Today’s post is in collaboration with Walmart, so everything I’m talking about can be found there! They carry a lot of premium baby products which are really great to add to your registry. What It's Like Having 1 Baby After Twins

What It's Like Having 1 Baby After Twins

I’ve been wanting to write a post like this for a while now! Comparing what is has been like having one baby after having twins. I know a lot you have twins and have been on the fence having a third. 1. I know you are all afraid of having twins again. If you have fraternal twins then your odds are a lot higher having a second set than if you have identical twins. Our girls are identical so I knew there was still a change to have another set but I knew I wanted more kids so I was willing to have 4 if that’s what was in the cards for us! And 2. You have PTSD after having twins and don’t want to go through it again. Kidding. Kind of. Having twins in the newborn stage is really stressful, it’s constant and just a lot to manage. So I know a lot of you are just not wanting to have to go through it all over again.

BABY REGISTRY ESSENTIALS

BABY REGISTRY ESSENTIALS

Time to talk baby registry! I get so many of you who ask what are my top things to register for. Having twins first really started me off in a whirlwind. I had no idea where to even begin and needing practically 2 of everything seemed super daunting. This time around with one little boy on the way, I know exactly what I need and have much more clarity on what is essential. I also saved some things from the girls, so I didn’t need everything like I did the first time around. So today I wanted to share some of my must-haves and I hope you find this helpful!

Life Lately with Toddlers

Life Lately with Toddlers

Hey guys, I hope you are all doing great! Today I wanted to fill you in on what’s going on in the Atkins household. A lot has changed with the girls, I’m now in my third trimester of this pregnancy and I thought we could just chat! I’m actually typing this in the air as we speak. I’m heading to Miami, believe it or not, on a work trip. I can’t talk about details yet, but you’ll find out soon enough! One of my good friends, Summer, is joining me since I’m pretty far along in my pregnancy. I didn’t feel comfortable traveling across the country alone so she is with me for moral support! I am going to do a post soon on traveling while pregnant and traveling without your kids. I’ve had a lot of questions asking how I feel leaving the girls and what-not, so I’ll have a post on that soon.

Similarities and Differences between my Twin vs Singleton Pregnancy

Similarities and Differences between my Twin vs Singleton Pregnancy

What is the difference between your twin pregnancy and this pregnancy?

That is the most common question I get asked these days so I decided to write a full post on what has been the same and what has been different. Sometimes it feels like I was just pregnant and then other days that time in my life feels forever ago. I even started watching some of my old pregnancy updates to compare the two and also see how big I was at different times. Now, I’m not quite in my third trimester yet, almost, but here is what I’ve realized about the two pregnancies up until this point. *And after finishing this post I am seeing how different they have been! I have been telling most people they have actually been a lot alike but now I’m realizing they have been pretty different.

Toddlers and Sleep

Toddlers and Sleep

I wanted to talk about sleep because it’s something I care A LOT about. I take naptime and bedtime pretty seriously for a few reasons. 1. The girls are in a much better mood when they get good sleep, it’s good for their development and physical growth. 2. It’s my time to get stuff done! But for reals, I really do count on their naps to film and edit videos and just get the important things done that need all my focus.

I'm Pregnant with Baby #3!

I'm Pregnant with Baby #3!

The day is finally here!!! Well I am posting this before the end of my first trimester, but I can’t wait any longer because I’ve felt so crummy the past few weeks. It is getting so hard to pretend like I feel normal when filming videos so I just couldn’t wait any longer. SO, I am 9 weeks pregnant and this time there is only one baby! I already had my first doctors appointment and my palms were so sweaty as I was waiting for the doctor to tell me how many babies there were! I sighed with relief when he said just one. A part of me thought I’d have twins again, but deep down I felt it was one. You can watch today’s video sharing weeks 1-5 with you.
